Fuzzled

Yes, that's what my brain is right now, fuzzled. I make up words sometimes ... why you might ask? Because it's fun and I have nothing better to do LOL. Some of you know why it's fuzzled, but I won't go into that here. Melanie told me I had to post about the new word so that's what I'm doing. Althought I don't really have much to say about it - just one of those "it seemed like a good idea at the time" things.

Oh! I started a new project this weekend - I'm attempting to make myself a sweater. It seems to be coming out pretty good, we'll see once I try to sew it together. I'm still working on Eeyore as well, although for me, once you start a new project, it's hard taking up the old one again.

I guess that's all I have to say for now. I'll go back to being fuzzled now. Bye.

What's with all the leaning?

Ok, while driving around town lately I've been noticing something. Well, I've always noticed this thing, everyone does it (including myself) and I've often wondered why. When someone goes to make a turn, they lean into the turn. Why? I don't know. Do we think it will actually make a difference? Will it help that 1-ton or more piece of metal make the aforementioned turn? It doesn't seem like it to me, so then why do we do it?

So recently, I've tried making turns without leaning and let me tell you, it's pretty difficult. Well, at least I have to really concentrate LOL. Has anyone else out there noticed this and if so, what do you think about it?

too cute!

So today, after work I went for my usual walk (no crazy neighbors this time if anyone was wondering). I decided to take both dogs because I always feel bad when I leave with one and you can hear the other in the house crying as you walk away. And here are some of the things that happened, I'll save the best for last!:
  • There was a stone in my shoe. And I picked up several more along the way. Word to the wise - always check your shoes before you put them on because once you start walking with 2 dogs you can't stop, for anything. Unless maybe you tied one to the other, but in my case that would be disastrous LOL.
  • I love Katie and all, but she can be a little over-excited about things. For example, leaves. A leaf blew across the road and she's like, what's that!! I bet it's some kind of creature, I better go chase it! Oh man, and you're like whoa, whoa there killer! While she's doing this, my dog, Gibson, is just walking along fine until Katie runs him over. He looks back at her and you can just tell what he's thinking, "Hello?? Can't you see I'm walking here?!?!?!"
  • And here's the grand finale, the part that made me laugh out loud! We were nearly home and Katie decides there's some interesing smell in the ditch. She lunges, and I start yelling, Gibson gets all tangled up and turned around. The leash somehow got wrapped around his belly and during this process his back-end slid into the ditch! I'm, at first like, oh no! Gibson - and then I start laughing hysterically because he looks so cute. He's just staring up at me "Uh, a little help here please?" LOL Sorry to laugh at you Gib, but it made my day!

Hope you all enjoyed my story!

Wham-O!! Right in the face!

Ok, they say it's good to laugh at oneself so this is what happened to me this morning. As some of you know I got asked to be on a panel by Steph for the youth sunday school class at my church. There was one married couple, one dating couple, and a single man and woman. You guessed it, I was the single woman. And the dating couple turned out to be a newly married couple, but oh well. This panel was set up so that the youth could ask questions about dating, relationships, marriage, etc.

So I get there this morning, it was supposed to start at 10, and I was a few minutes early. I walk in, there's a few girls there, say hello and then sit down to wait for other people I know. Teenagers, as teenagers can be, decide they can't sit still and get the rubber ball out start playing some sort of game. I'm still sitting there waiting for my friends thinking, oh why, oh why did I agree to do this. Finally Jess and Jason show up and Jess comes over, there's cookies over there, ya wanna get some? Oh sure I say. So I gingerly step by the rowdy teenagers with the ball and thought I was safe since my back was to them. Boy was I ever wrong! All of the sudden (I don't exactly know how this happened but) I got slammed in the face with the ball! And I never even turned around! It must've bounced off the opposite wall or something. I grab the ball, turn around and say, alright, who's the culprit? It turned out it was Steph, the ADULT youth leader!!! She, of course, apologized profusely and said "Now that kids, is why we don't kick the ball inside." LOL I tell ya, I'm gonna hold that over her for quite some time.

All in all the panel thing wasn't that bad, it was actually kind of fun. I learned that the other single guy was doing internet dating as well. At least I know I'm not the only crazy one in this town. Haha, I suppose that remains to be seen.

Update on projects: I got a few more rows done on the purse - still don't know if I'll ever finish. And Eeyore is coming along pretty good, I sewed the bow on the tail, and have started on the first leg. What I've been listening to in the past few days: Ben Lee, Aqualung, The Zutons, and Death Cab for Cutie

There, Mel, are you happy that I posted now!

Aqualung

So Aqualung has finally released an album in the states and I got it last night. I really like it, but then again I have a thing for what I term piano bands (like Keane). You can listen to streaming audio of his stuff here.

An update on what I'm working on: Eeyore is coming along pretty good I guess. I've got the ears, muzzle and both arms done. I'm currently working on the tail, which is 53 rounds so that could take awhile. I haven't picked up the poncho I started this past weekend yet, so there's no progress on that, tho if I'm to beat Mel I suppose I better get going on it considering she said she'll be working on her cape tonight. I'm also working on a Moroccan purse that's been sitting in the bottom of my basket for a very long time. Maybe some day I'll get it finished.

Spinning on the discman this week: Aqualung (of course!), Kings of Convenience and Kaiser Chiefs.

There's a cow in the mall!!!

Ok, so Melanie and I were walking through the mall tonight and there was this huge ceramic cow in the middle of the foyer amongst the four-wheelers, tractors, and whirlpools. And get this, there were kids sitting there milking it!!! So Mel and I may be easily amused, but we just busted up. Only in Chautauqua mall I thought. LOL

We've started some new projects too, I'm making yet another poncho, seen here. And Mel's making a cape, seen ... oh, you can't see it, she bought the pattern. I bet I'll be done first, haha!

Blogger was making me upset last night

Just wanted to try to post a little bit here at work this morning to see if I have any better luck here than I did at home last night. I don't know what was wrong with it, but I wrote all this stuff and then it gave me a "page cannot be displayed" error message when i tried to publish. Anyway, as you can see I did get a picture of Pooh up, he's finished yay!! And now I'm on to Eeyore. I've got the ears, muzzle and most of the first arm done. I think he's gonna take a little longer than Pooh. Also my friend Melanie keeps bugging me about starting a new project (which I really want to do) so that isn't helping matters.

Oh! Last night my brother came home with this armload of uniforms he has to wear to work now. You know the kind -- striped shirt with the name stitched on the pocket. Ah hahahahahhaha. I'm gonna try to sneak of picture of him sometime. I don't think he reads this so hopefully he won't find out my plan.

I suppose I'd better get to work. Spinning on the discman this week: Keane, The Thrills, and Kaiser Chiefs!!

Vera Drake

Wow, I just watched this film and the reviews were right, Imelda Staunton is amazing in it. Now if you know anything about this film, then you know it's based on actual events about abortion in England, back in the early 1950's when it was still illegal. And if you know me, you also know I'm pro-life. So even though I knew what she was doing was wrong, it still made me think and see her viewpoint. Watch it yourself and see what you think.

By the way, the Winnie the Pooh doll I'm working on is coming along nicely. I'm on round 82 out of 88 so nearly finished. Yay!!
