Life at Camp is not all it's cracked up to be, but that was to be expected

Ok, I know it's been forever since I last posted and I'm sorry for that, but... life happens. So my husband and I have been staying at Camp Findley for the summer while he's working there. It is as expected, bugs, lousy food whining kids. But it'll all be over soon, so I'm trying not to complain.

I have got my tv set up there, so that makes life a little more bearable. Last night I started watching the PBS series Manor House. As with all the others I've seen (1900 House, Colonial House, Frontier House and Regency House Party) I again wonder what these people thought they were getting themselves into. The girl who signed up to be scullery maid (which I'm under the impression is the lowest of the the low in the servant world) lasted only 2 days and then ran screaming for her mommy with skirt-tails flying. Ok, that wasn't exactly how it happened, but close.

As my friend Wendy says - these people just probably want to be on TV. And then when they can't hack it, go home crying - or in the case of Frontier house - stay on and whine to the camera. I just want to yell at them, get a life!! What did you think it was gonna be like, life was tough back then.

Anyway, on to another topic, I'm excited because my friend Stephanie and her family are coming up here from Charlotte to visit for awhile. Can't wait to see how big my little godson has gotten! And then next weekend, Melanie is coming to visit for a knitting weekend!! Yay!!

Did you finish Manor House? We'll have to discuss it in depth sometime. I found all the PBS House shows very insightful and interesting but this was probably the one I liked best.
How are things now at camp? Blog again! Don't let another year go by before the next post!

Yes, I did finish it and we'll have to discuss it when you get back here. I'm on to 1940s House, again, it is interesting...
